Bird Preservation, Research and Visitors’
Centre on Malgas Island in Saldanha Bay
Sinjon Moffett's Masters Thesis for University of the Free State. This design focuses on a dying colony of Cape Gannets on Malgas Island, and explores what role architecture could play in preventing the extinction of the species. The design features lightweight timber elements and aims at utilizing existing structures on the island in order to minimize the impact human's presence on the island.
